International PhotoIn 1995, our founder Rev. D. Cordell Brown made a trip to Ghana, West Africa that would change his life forever. On this trip he witnessed first-hand the plight of the disabled. “It seemed they had been together in one place-not a building, a hall, or even a prison; it was several city blocks after another, people in streets, literally on the ground with the rats, completely uncared for, completely without hope, completely discarded.”

As he rode on the plane to come back home, he knew he would be back and try to make a difference. That was ten years ago. Echoing Hills Village Ghana with the partnership of the Ghanaian government, churches and other organizations have been able to reach out and help touch the lives of thousands with special needs in this third world country.

Echoing Hills Village Ghana today is a residential facility able to house up to 28 special need individuals. A wheelchair repair center and a medical clinic is located on-site. They continue to develop micro-businesses that will help support them financially, but more importantly, providing meaningful work to our residents and others with special needs.

As we look towards the future, we are in the process of transitioning Echoing Hills Village Ghana to the leadership of the Board of Directors and the Ghanaian citizens. Our international goal will be to develop short-term evangelical outreach opportunities to countries around the world working with the special needs population.
