Do you believe that the Lord directs your steps?
Do you believe the Lord directs your steps and puts the right people in your path? Well Evangelist JR Holsinger from the Apostolic Brethren Church believes that with his whole heart.
One day as he was searching for a location that could accommodate their Youth Camp and Convention, he discovered Camp Echoing Hills.
Not only was it centrally located (WV, OH, PA, IN), but it met all their specific needs. The cabins and lodging had to be cost effective with the rental prices, and there had to be plenty of room to accommodate the entire group to have their separate meetings.
Once JR met with us he felt the Lord had a plan that he wasn't aware of in the beginning, and that was to build a lasting relationship with our ministry. He knew the Lord wanted us to help one another out. He believes the Lord puts us in different positions and places and that He has a perfect plan. I would completely agree with him because JR's group has blessed us beyond measure. And so the story begins….
The day the conference was over we went to say our goodbyes to JR and Pam. They were packing the truck and we were thanking them for using our facilities, and to see if there was anything they needed before they left for their long trip home. We started talking and sharing our hearts about our special needs camp – telling them about the endless opportunities and how a group like theirs could get involved with our ministry. Immediately, they caught the vision of Camp Echoing Hills.
God had blessed their church with many gifted and talented people who came to help this past winter. They totally gutted one of the girl's cabins with 22 volunteers from OH, WV and PA putting in over 680 man hours. He knew God had a greater purpose for bringing his group here (other than the conference and retreat) and that purpose has been fulfilled by helping us out.
The Lord definitely had His hand on this group while they were here. Even though we had tons of snow during one of the weekends, the group experienced one of our Kids Respite Weekends. JR again knew God had a greater purpose for his time at CEH. He say's many people have a fear of not knowing about those with disabilities, but we can do what the Lord has called us to do by fulfilling His plan and purpose. All you have to be is open to the vision and dream God places before you!
Thank you Apostolic Brethren for all you have done to bless the special people we serve.
